ABOUT THE GRID / A NOTE FROM DOUG

IT STARTED WITH
RELATIONSHIPS.

DOUG GREENFOUNDER, THE GRID COLLECTIVE

I’m Doug Green, founder of The Grid Collective, a husband, and a father to four boys. I also lead Forged, the men’s ministry at Branches Church in Loveland, Ohio.

The Grid is an independent initiative I’m building with the support of my home church, Branches. It shares the heart behind my work with Forged: helping men build meaningful relationships through faith, shared experiences, and showing up for one another.

Through The Grid, I’m extending that invitation to men ages 18–35 across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. I’m continuing to lead Forged while building connections beyond our church community.

Earlier in my life, during my first marriage, things looked good from the outside. I owned a business. I had two boys, a large home, and plenty of people around me. I had a lot of friendships. They just weren’t very deep.

When life got tough, I found myself alone and depressed. My life had exploded around me, and I didn’t know how to put it back together.

Relationships with other men changed the trajectory of my life. Having men I could be honest with, learn from, and count on showed me what I’d been missing. That experience is why I’m building The Grid.

I’m thinking about the man who shows up for work, takes care of his family, and seems to have everything handled—but is doing too much of life alone. He doesn’t have to be falling apart to need other men. We all face challenges. We shouldn’t have to wait until life gets hard to build relationships we can rely on.

The Grid is about helping men find meaningful relationships and connect with people and organizations around our city already doing good work. Faith is the foundation. Every man is welcome.

My hope is simple: that more men have someone to call, someone to learn from, and someone who keeps showing up.

Our families and communities deserve the best of us. And we need men in our corner as we work toward becoming those men.

Let’s navigate this Grid together.
